Community Careline Services Ltd

Community Careline Services Ltd is a large provider of home care services throughout the UK. Their current systems are based around a thin client technology WAN using Wyse terminals and Compaq/HP servers (also designed and installed by Albits and their Partners). However, this system no longer suits the needs of their business and we were commissioned to find an alternative solution. The brief was to design and install a cost effective decentralised end to end turnkey solution using the latest logistical software for planning and confirming the delivery of service.

Along with our major partner, Lantech Systems, a VPN has been installed using standard BT Business Broadband that connects together 9 of their regional offices. Each office has their own computer network and can work completely stand alone if required but still provides connectivity to their corporate headquarters in Merseyside.

There are no on-site technical personnel so all aspects of day to day administration are carried out remotely via the VPN. Backups are carried out on a regular basis using Datalifeline's online, offsite backup solutions.

Another problem facing all homecare providers is the requirement under care standards to keep certain client related information for over 80 Years. To achieve this, Albits uses Wisdom EDRMS (Electronic Document and Record Management System) via its alliance partner Diagonal Solutions.
